St.
Vincent de Paul Society
Mission
of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul - St. Joseph Parish
The
Society of St. Vincent de Paul, an International Catholic lay organization,
leads women and men to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service
to the needy and suffering. The St. Joseph Parish group meets in Filipini
Hall, 7 - 9 PM, located at French and 3rd Streets, on the second and fourth
Wednesday of each month. Guests are welcome.
In
the tradition of our founder, Blessed Frédéric Ozanam, and patron
saint, St. Vincent de Paul, we offer compassion and support to individuals and
families regardless of race, origin, gender or religion. In our service to the
poor, we make no distinction in those served, because in them we see the face
of Christ. Our members, who are known as Vincentians, are drawn from every ethnic
and cultural background, age group, and economic level. We are seeking new members
to be involved in home visits and to assist in the administration of our food
pantry, which is open to the public every Thursday evening from 7 - 9 PM in
St. Anthony Hall located at Pleasant and 3rd Street. Please contact our Rectory
at 561-0180.
