The Church of 1919
St. Joseph Church of 1919 was basically early Romanesque in style. It was constructed of a buff-colored brick with a slate roof. All the doors and windows had rounded arches. The windows were made of colored glass leaded into geometric patterns. The windows on the epistle aisle of the nave contained inserts of painted glass portraying saints.
The entrance to the church was symmetrical with two double door entrances, and a tower at each side, one tower being taller to house the bell. Centered above the two doors was a large round window known in Gothic times as a rose window. The center section of the window contained a painting of St. Joseph.
In the vestibule of the church. located under the bell tower was the baptistry, while the other tower gave access to the choir loft.
